Adapted quickly Changes in minutes, not quarters. Whether you run Cinnamon yourself or take it as a service: the shape of the reporting lives in data, not in code. A new segment, an extra figure or another language is therefore a configuration, often a matter of minutes, not a development project with a release date. What can change Changes that need no development Client requests rarely arrive on a release date. Most of what an institution asks for can therefore be configured rather than developed. These are the cases that come up most often. And where a request goes further, we build a new building block. It is then available to every report type, not only to the client who asked. Which building blocks the report contains You decide which sections appear: performance, allocation, holdings, transactions, risk, sustainability, and which your client should not see at all. The order they appear in One client wants holdings before performance, another wants sustainability right after the overview. The order is a setting, not a piece of programming. A new client segment Family offices should get a different report from mandate clients: different structure, different depth, different tone. That is set up, not developed. One more figure The investment committee now wants duration in the overview. The figure is added and appears in every affected report from the next run. A different breakdown By region or rating instead of by asset class, or by a classification that exists only at your institution. Another language Italian for clients in Ticino: every label is translatable, and the report arrives in the recipient's language. A new market commentary Quarterly copy is written, approved and appears in the report, versioned and per language, without anyone touching a report. Thresholds and presentation When a deviation counts as notable, which period is preselected, how figures round: these are settings. Building blocks Over 100 ready-made building blocks A selection from the catalogue. Each of these is finished, proven and available to every report type. allocation-tree Allocation tree multi-gauge Attribution rings radar Radar sunburst Sunburst donuts Donuts and pies line-column Lines and columns maps Maps gauges Gauges funding-ratios Funding ratios core-satellites Core-satellite sdg-scores SDG scores A report is assembled from building blocks: sections, tables, charts, metrics, layouts, editorial blocks, attribution calculations, sustainability graphics. Where one is genuinely missing we build it, and it is then available to every report type. Switchable areas Tabs, menu or selection list: several views in the same place. View filters Whole sections can be shown and hidden without rebuilding the report. Was davor liegt, bleibt unberührt. Late corrections recalculate from their value date. With reconciliation against the custodian. Principle 2 · Transactions Everything calculated from transactions. At any time, again. In Core a position is not an input but a result. Every position, every value and every return comes from the booked transactions, and can be recalculated from them, from any date. Millions of transactions processed per year 15+ bank interfaces in production When the past changes One correction, three months back A dividend arrives with the wrong amount, and the correction comes weeks later. In Core that is not a special case. The correction is booked With the value date on which it economically happened, not the day it arrived. Core rolls the state back For every consolidation affected, to the day before the value date. Everything before that stays untouched. From there it recalculates Booking and valuation, day by day, up to yesterday. Afterwards position, value and return are right again, retroactively too. A corrected price takes the shorter route: it resets only the valuation, and the bookings stay as they are. unchanged recalculated Value date of the correction yesterday Timeline: before the value date of the correction the states stay unchanged; from there up to yesterday they are recalculated. On demand Recalculate whenever you want From a date Rebook a consolidation, or only revalue it, from a date you choose. From the beginning Discard all states and rebuild them from the transactions. The result is the same, because the source is the same. In the order you need Booked by value date, by trade date or by booking date, depending on which view is asked for. Core does: because it calculates every position itself from the transactions, it checks each one against the bank’s delivery. It compares quantity, market value and accrued interest, within tolerances you set. Every position is then reconciled, different or missing. A difference can be investigated, or aligned with a corrective booking that stays visible as a transaction. reconciled different missing open Cinnamon Core: transaction journal Cinnamon Core: position reconciliation against the custodian --- ## https://cinnamon.bmpi.ch/core/daily-states/ Tagesstände: jeder Tag vorberechnet Cinnamon Core hält für jede Position in jeder Konsolidierung einen bewerteten Stand pro Tag bereit. Selbst nachgemessen 2.56 Mio. Cinnamon Core: Status der Nachrechnung ### English — https://cinnamon.bmpi.ch/en/core/daily-states/ Daily states: every day pre-calculated Cinnamon Core keeps a valued state per day for every position in every consolidation. Analyses read those states instead of replaying transactions. Principle 3 · Daily states Every day pre-calculated. For every position in every consolidation Core keeps one state per day, since inception. Whoever wants an analysis reads those states instead of rebuilding them from years of transactions. That is why Core is fast. 100,000 portfolios calculated in under an hour Consolidation “Sample family”, September 1 square = 1 daily state, fully valued Swiss equities CHF bonds Global equities Real estate fund CHF account 1 Sep 29 Sep (yesterday) CHF bonds, 29 Sep Nominal 250,000 Price 101.35 % Accrued interest 1,562.50 Value CHF 254,937.50 Flows 0.00 September return: reads these 145 states, not a single transaction Schematic with invented figures. Schematic: five positions of a consolidation, with one fully valued state for every day in September. One state is opened: nominal, price, accrued interest, value and flows. The September return reads all of these states and no transaction. What a state holds A target state A state belongs to exactly one consolidation, one position and one day. It records what was true that evening. Consolidation · position · date Quantity units or nominal after all of the day’s bookings Price in the consolidation currency Accrued interest accrued up to that day Cost value in position and in consolidation currency Flows the day’s capital flows, the basis of every return When it is calculated When something changes, not when someone asks On every change A new transaction or a new price triggers the recalculation. It updates the affected states, up to yesterday. With a fallback Core also checks regularly whether every consolidation is current, and catches up on anything left behind. The same as recalculating Pre-calculating and recalculating are one mechanism. So there is no state that came about differently from the others. What that makes fast Ten years of return reads ten years of states Returns, figures and reports are calculated on request from the states and flows, not from the transactions. The heavy work, following every booking since inception, has already been done. Measured ourselves 2.56 million daily states across eleven years and 22 consolidations, fully rebooked and revalued in just over 8 minutes Measured on 30.09.2026 with generated sample data: “rebook and revalue all”, one worker on 4 vCPUs, PostgreSQL 16, about 5,000 states per second. That is what makes any wealth structure possible. Principles 4 and 5 · Consolidation Any selection consolidated. Any structure reflected. In Core a consolidation is not a fixed level of a hierarchy but a selection: whole mandates, single portfolios or depots, single positions, mixed freely, with its own currency and its own strategy. Try it One family, four views Three mandates of one family, booked as Core books them: mandate, portfolio, depot, position. Remove parts Whatever does not belong is taken out again: a depot, a portfolio, a position. Filter positions Including and excluding filters, by investment type for example. Where both apply, exclusion wins. And every consolidation has its own Currency Language Strategy Closing date Booking order Treatment of fees Principle 5 Structures this can reflect Bookings follow one clear order: mandate, portfolio, depot, position. The view of the assets does not follow that order; it is put together. That is why any structure fits that can be described as a selection. The family Several mandates, one view. And beside it each family member’s view on its own. The foundation with sub-portfolios One mandate, several portfolios, each with its own strategy, and the consolidation above them. The pension fund with several managers Each manager a portfolio, the total assets a consolidation against the investment strategy.
