The report that answers your questions.
Your client asks "why am I 0.5% below benchmark?" And the report answers. With figures it has read or computed itself. Never invented.

The feature
Three things a static report cannot do
One run-through in 15 seconds, no sound. In this order:
Ask a question
Your client asks the report, in her own words.
Get the answer
The answer comes from the report, not from the model.
Jump to the evidence
Every figure is clickable and shows where it came from.
Reliability
The model cannot invent a number
Not a policy, but a property of our architecture. Every figure in every answer is one of two things, and the report shows which.
−1.24% read
Printed in the report. The display string is copied verbatim.
+0.37%ƒ computed
Computed by the server from report data. Hovering names the operation.
How this works
Why the model cannot invent
Language models invent figures because they produce figures as text. Here that is ruled out, not by an instruction in the prompt, but by the construction.
- 01
The server indexes the report before anything is asked
On load, the server captures every figure in the report (each metric, table cell and plotted point) and gives it an identifier of its own. In the demo report that is around 1,500 values. The model sees that inventory, not the rendered page.
- 02
The model may not write digits
Instead of a number it places an identifier in the answer. Where "−0.42%" is to appear in the text, what the model produces holds a reference to exactly that value in the report.
- 03
The server substitutes the figures
Only afterwards are the identifiers replaced by the stored values, as the display string the report itself prints. An identifier that does not exist cannot be resolved: the answer fails rather than shipping an invented number.
- 04
Arithmetic is the server's, not the model's
Sums, differences and shares are computed server-side from report data. The model chooses the operation but does not perform it, so it cannot get the arithmetic wrong either.
- 05
Every figure carries its origin
Read and computed values are marked differently and both are clickable. A click jumps to the place in the report the value came from. What cannot be evidenced never appears.
What remains: the model does the phrasing. It chooses what to say and can be off the mark: an explanation may be unhelpful.¹ What it cannot do is name a figure that is not in the report.
¹ In practice, with today’s frontier models, this is highly unlikely.
